These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HERA
platform at hera.masegoinc.com, its APIs, dashboards, and data
products (together, the "Service"), operated by Masego Inc ("Masego", "we",
"us"). By accessing the Service or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to
these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you
represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
HERA discovers, normalizes, packages, and distributes public census and human-geography data, aligned to open standards. Data is sourced primarily from official national statistics offices and authoritative public agencies, supplemented by recognized secondary sources. We describe our security and governance program as audit-ready; we do not claim any certification we have not received.
Some features require an account or API key. You are responsible for safeguarding your API key and for all activity under it. Notify us promptly at support@masegoinc.com of any unauthorized use. You must be able to form a binding contract to subscribe.
Paid tiers are billed through our payment processor, Stripe, on a recurring basis (monthly unless stated otherwise) until cancelled. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Billing details, cancellation, and refunds are described in our Billing & Refunds policy.
Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the data products for your internal and commercial purposes. Underlying datasets carry their own source licenses (for example, geoBoundaries gbOpen under CC BY 4.0). Where a source requires attribution, you must preserve the attribution we provide in the package metadata and documentation. You may not remove provenance or metadata, or redistribute a dataset in a way that violates its upstream source license.
The Service, including HERA's normalization, standards alignment, packaging, and software, is owned by Masego Inc. These Terms grant no rights in our trademarks. Rights in the underlying public data remain with their respective sources.
The Service and data are provided "as is" and "as available". While we work from official and authoritative sources and run quality checks, we do not warrant that the data is error-free, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. You are responsible for validating suitability for your use case.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Masego Inc will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive (licensing, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (Governing-law and venue details are being finalized with counsel.)
